So yeah, my German Shepherd is pretty long into pregnancy, and I can feel her water when I pet her tummy.
She was impregnated by a bloodhound, and both of the dogs are purebred.
What are the possibilities that they’ll look like/behave like?
My dad keeps going crazy saying that one will have big long ears like a bloodhound but stand up like a shepherd’s.
Alright, since I’ve gotten too many of these
PLEASE, STOP PREACHING YOUR PRO-NEUTER BUSINESS HERE
I didn’t ask for an opinion, I asked for an answer to my question.
Jesus Christ, just please, STOP IT with your pro-neuter crap.
As far as I’m concerned, spaying my dog right now is murder.
None of you can really change my beliefs, and I wont try to change yours.
Just please, take yours elsewhere.
Well, they’ll certainly look different!
I should think they’ll be big and leggy – the ears may vary between individuals – they’ll have huge feet – they’ll require lots of exercise and training.
I should have a word with the vet, though – a bloodhound has quite a big head, and a GS, with her girl-athlete’s build, might find her pelvis a bit narrow for an easy birth. Better safe than sorry.
Anyway, I hope your lovely girl has a safe delivery and that you find really good homes for all her pups. They’ll have quirky-cute appeal at a guess.
Can you post a picture when they’re old enough?

I would look out, they might come out resembling Allen Greenspan.

They will look like their mom needs to be spayed.

Oh goodness.. it’s hard to say. Hounds are very scent oriented with big floppy ears. I doubt big long ears would stand up though.

There’s a 100% possibility that they will all come out looking like the mutts they are, so the fact that the parents are purebred doesn’t mean squat, now does it? They’re just as likely to have ears the size of a shepherd that fold like the bloodhound’s

they will be mutts there is no telling
either way you will still be a murder i just wish you would get ride of the ones that never had a chance aka yours

the’ll look the same

Rather than bring more unwanted mutts into this world, why didn’t you have an abort/spay done? Millions of dogs are euthanized in shelters each year because of irresponsible dog owners.

Your dad is making jokes, but you were very irresponsible to allow her to go into heat in the first place. My own sister has 4 Bloodhounds, and one German Shepherd. Guess what? THEY ARE ALL FIXED!
These dogs will probably be a lot smarter than you. Bloodhounds are used in search and rescue, and German Shepherds are used as family pets, and for drug sniffing as well as police attack dogs.
Bloodhounds especially will follow their noses for as long as it takes to get whatever they are after, unless they are kept in a very secure yard, and on a lead whenever taken out of the fenced yard.
My Grandson also has a Spayed Bloodhound, and a neutered, mixed German Shepherd.
With so many millions of pets being destroyed every year, how can you not get your pets spayed or neutered? It is a simple operation and is always cheaper while they are younger. Most vets will do the surgery when they are between 4 to 6 months of age, with some vets who are qualified to do the surgery when the pups are about 2 to 3 months old. With male pups, you need to be sure they have dropped both testicles, first. If they don’t drop both then their surgery will be more expensive, as it then becomes a major surgery.
Also, your pets will live happier and longer, healthier lives if they are altered, as they will never get Cancer of their reproductive organs, which is the cause of death to many dogs, as well as cats.

Better answer here is to sterilize humans not puppies.

Doesn’t matter what they look like. They’re still going to end up killing several shelter dogs.
Well, the puppies won’t. You will. BYB.

Forget about how the puppies will look. Have you considered how a GSD will produce mongrels that will have very large heads. Your b1tch may have problems producing these puppies, get a vet on standby for a Cesarean operation.
