Is It Possible to Train a German Shepherd to Protect Another Dog?

My girlfriend and I plan on getting a German Shepherd and a Eskimo dog, I wanted to know if it’s possible to train my German Shepherd to protect not just me and my girlfriend but our Eskimo puppy also. Thanks & God bless.

if your two dogs get along, your dog will naturally protect any animal (human or dog) in the house.
be sure to introduce the two correctly (yes there is a correct and incorrect way) and once they are comfortable with each other your dogs will natually protect the members of their ‘pack’

A GSD will automatically protect his "family", this includes the Eskimo. After a little while they will bond and the GSD will know who his family is. But a German Shepherd doesn’t get protective until after maturity.
