Is a German Shepherd or Husky Good for Running?

I just posted a question on which dog breeds are best for running, but I forget to specify that I am looking into huskies and german shepherd (particularly white GSD’s). Would these breeds make good running partners for a avid runner?

Also, if I got both a husky and a GSD, do you think their personalities would clash? Or would the likely get along well?

GSD would make a great running companion, and so would a Husky.
If you were to get one of each, I would get a female & a male, they will get along better then 2 of the same sex! I have a friend who has a 5 year old Husky and she LOVES to run, it is her favorite thing in life!!
Good Luck!

Yes they’re good for running. And if they’re raised together as puppies or are both well socialized dogs they’ll get along.

Definitely. That is why German Shepherds are used as police dogs and huskies are used for dog sledding. I don’t know about the personalities though.

Huskies and German Shepherds both make excellent running partners as they’re very active dogs. If you were to get both a Husky and a GSD, I would recommend buying the two together as puppies so they are socialized with each other from an early age. If done this way they should get along well and hopefully be the best of friends.

This is not a reason to select a dog, especially these two breeds. Do some research so the dogs won’t end up in a shelter. Like what would you plan to do with the dogs the other 23.5 hours in the day????????
